Blast Fruit In-Depth Review and Guide

Game mechanics and objective

Blast Fruit sticks a bunch of glossy cherries, oranges, grapes and berries on the screen and asks you to do the obvious thing: connect the matching ones and clear them out before the level runs dry. It's a bubble-pop and match-3 mashup, so instead of just swapping tiles side by side, you're tracing a line through clusters of same-colored fruit and watching them burst in a satisfying little chain reaction. Nothing about it reinvents the puzzle wheel, honestly, but the pacing keeps things snappy enough that you stop noticing the clock.

Each stage throws a slightly different layout at you, sometimes packed tight, sometimes spread thin with awkward gaps that make big combos harder to pull off. The goal is usually to hit a target score or clear a set number of fruit within your moves, and the difficulty creeps up gradually rather than spiking out of nowhere. There's a rhythm to it once you settle in — spot the biggest cluster, chain it, watch the board reshuffle, repeat. Simple on paper, but the later levels start throwing curveballs with fruit types that barely have room to connect.

Controller & Keyboard Guide

  • Swipe across fruit of the same type to link them into a chain.
  • Drag continuously without lifting to connect as many matching pieces as possible in one go.
  • Release your swipe once the chain looks solid to trigger the pop.
  • Longer chains clear more fruit at once and score noticeably higher.
  • Mis-swiping onto a different fruit type breaks the connection, so keep your line steady.

Top Tips

  • Scan the whole board first instead of grabbing the nearest cluster — bigger chains almost always sit somewhere less obvious.
  • Save isolated fruit pockets for later moves; they often merge with new pieces once the board shifts.
  • Don't rush swipes near the edges, that's where mis-taps happen most.
  • Watch how new fruit drop in after a pop, since planning one move ahead saves wasted turns.
  • If a level feels stuck, try clearing from the bottom up rather than the top down.
